Donate fresh produce to a food pantry near you!food pantry near you!
Many Extension Master Gardeners not only have their own home gardens but also help manage demonstration gardens and community gardens. You can increase the health of your community by donating the fresh produce grown in those plots to a local food pantry. Food pantries are in constant need of donations of fresh food, to move away from so many canned goods and processed foods and offer healthier options to their clients. This is where home and community gardeners can make the largest impact!
Consider making regular donations to your nearest food pantry to work towards decreasing food insecurity in your area! Click here to find a listing for your local pantry.
As Extension Master Gardeners, your communities listen to you and trust your expertise. You can significantly increase donations of fresh produce to pantries by encouraging your gardening community to donate extra produce. You can mention AmpleHarvest.org (or the cause, in general) on your websites and at your events! Click here to add our banner to your website to help gardeners find a pantry near them! When gardeners come to us for help with gardening, we send them to you. We hope that when you encounter a gardener that has an abundant harvest, that you’ll send them to us so we can help them get that food to families in need.
AmpleHarvest.org is a non-profit group, encouraging gardeners to donate fresh produce to a local food pantry. All donations are tax-deductible and go directly to increasing food security in your community and across America.
