Rio Grande Food Project is a food pantry, urban garden and community hub. Our mission is to alleviate hunger and cultivate long-term food security in our communities. RGFP provides groceries to over 800 low-income people weekly, offers additional resources through our community hub such as bill assistance, and conducts gardening and cooking classes in our on-site garden. We strive to offer the highest quality nutritious food, so all fruits and vegetables harvested in our garden goes directly to supplement our food distribution, but it is not enough to service everyone who visits us, so we would love to provide MORE produce to our guests!

RGFP's office and loading dock door is on the SE corner of the building which is shared with the Rio Grande Presbyterian Church. There is a doorbell if the loading dock door is closed. We can also arrange a pick-up of any food donations.
ProducePedia
ProducePedia is a free resource that covers the types of fresh produce that can be delivered to food pantries. Each entry includes information on color, taste, and possible uses. People unfamiliar with the vegetable or fruit will learn how to use it, and those who are familiar with it still might learn a fun fact or two!
The Cooperative Extension sites have a wealth of information for any backyard gardener. Once you go to the site (each one if very different from the others) look for a link for “homes and gardens”, “landscape”, “consumer horticulture”, etc. to find information on improving your backyard garden. Neighboring state sites may offer information your own state’s site lacks.
