Marysville Community Food Bank

NOT JUST A HANDOUT We're here to give you a hand-up. We know our community is feeling the impact of skyrocketing gas prices, the rising cost of living and other everyday essentials. Not to mention the less predictable, but urgent expenses that seem to appear at the worst times: medical bills, car repairs, and more. We exist because we don’t want you, or your family, to ever have to choose between your next meal and paying your rent or mortgage. Let us take care of lunch so you can buy school supplies. Let us take care of dinner so you can replace a flat tire so you can commute to your job. You don't have to be "poor" to use a food bank. You are welcome here — whether you're a regular client or just need to visit us once. We exist to give a hand up to anyone who is truly in need of our services. The few requirements to get food from the Marysville Community Food Bank are: 1. You have a need for food based on your own judgment. 2. You reside in zip codes 98270, 98271 or 98259.

ProducePedia

ProducePedia is a free resource that covers the types of fresh produce that can be delivered to food pantries. Each entry includes information on color, taste, and possible uses. People unfamiliar with the vegetable or fruit will learn how to use it, and those who are familiar with it still might learn a fun fact or two!

State Cooperative Extension Web Sites

The Cooperative Extension sites have a wealth of information for any backyard gardener. Once you go to the site (each one if very different from the others) look for a link for “homes and gardens”, “landscape”, “consumer horticulture”, etc. to find information on improving your backyard garden. Neighboring state sites may offer information your own state’s site lacks.
