Burbank Temporary Aid Center has been serving the community of Burbank for more than 50 years. In addition to over 1,000 households, BTAC also helps approximately 100 unhoused individuals. Services include monthly groceries from BTAC's food pantry, access to showers and laundry facilities, utility assistance and daily sack lunches. In addition to canned and packaged goods, thanks to local retail grocers, BTAC provides fresh produce, dairy products and even meats.

BTAC accepts donations of canned and packaged foods, gift cards to local grocers, Target/Walmart and Amazon. Or pick something from our Amazon or Walmart wish list and have it delivered to BTAC. And, of course, funds are critical to being able to maintain our facility and ensure the services and consistent and available. Donations should be delivered to the rear of our facility via the alley. Donations are accepted M-F 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. Or by appointment on weekends or evenings.

ProducePedia

ProducePedia is a free resource that covers the types of fresh produce that can be delivered to food pantries. Each entry includes information on color, taste, and possible uses. People unfamiliar with the vegetable or fruit will learn how to use it, and those who are familiar with it still might learn a fun fact or two!

Once you go to the site (each one if very different from the others) look for a link for “homes and gardens”, “landscape”, “consumer horticulture”, etc. to find information on improving your backyard garden. Neighboring state sites may offer information your own state’s site lacks.
