Teen Feed
Teen Feed works with the community to offer support, meet basic needs, and ally with houseless youth as they meet their future off the streets. With the tremendous support of the community, Teen Feed responds to the most basic needs of houseless and at-risk youth in the following focus areas: healthy meals and lives, youth support coordination, and street outreach. Teen Feed is made up of four integrated programs: our nightly Teen Feed Meal Program, the Street Talk Outreach Program (STOP), In-Reach (drop-in) program, and Service Links for Youth (SLY)-- alternative, informal youth resource navigation. Our nightly meal program serves dinner every night of the year (365) from 7-8pm, and is specifically a youth-centric space for youth 13-25 years of age. All our meals are volunteer planned, donated, and powered: volunteers menu plan, grocery shop, cook the food, and serve the food. All our food is donated by community partners like these meal teams, and therefore we are always seeking food donations. We also provide snacks at our Street Outreach and In-Reach programs as well. As such, food donations we are always looking for are: -granola bars -chicken/tuna salad read-to-eat shelf stable packets -cup noodles/instant mac-n-cheese -pantry staples: pasta, rice, flour, sugar, cooking oil -canned/jar sauces: tomato sauce, alfredo sauce, diced tomatoes, etc. -canned fruit/vegetables -spices (Italian seasoning, garlic, onion, salt, pepper, paprika, etc.) -condiments: ranch, ketchup, mustard, BBQ sauce, salad dressing, hot sauce, croutons, bacon bits -sparkling water -bottled water -100% fruit juice -electrolyte packets -instant coffee, cocoa, and apple cider packets -We LOVE donations of fresh produce, particularly: lettuce, broccoli, kale, carrots, beans/peas (green beans, snap peas, snow peas, etc), fresh fruit: berries, apples, peaches. *Toiletries, hygiene kits, first aid kits, and sunscreen are always needed too!
