AmpleHarvest.org and Veterans
Our partnership
We want food insecure veterans to have a sustained source of fresh, nutritious produce. When we educate and enable veteran gardeners, their act of generosity not only helps to alleviate hunger but also fosters a sense of community and support among veterans, creating a network of care that extends beyond the garden.
Donating homegrown fruit and vegetables is important because food pantries typically lack fresh produce. When you donate, people in need have healthier food options available to them. Eating fresh lowers the risk of diet related illnesses such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and obesity.
Ready to nourish your community?
Feel-good vibes
There is nothing quite like the satisfaction of growing your own food. But imagine taking that one-step further by sharing your harvest with Veterans and others in your community who are struggling with food insecurity. It is a win-win: you get to enjoy the therapeutic benefits of gardening while providing fresh, nutritious food to those who need it most.
