The Ō´yō´•ṗ´ Food Pantry is a need-based pantry. We focus on providing healthy, local, and culturally relevant foods. The Ō´yō´•ṗ´ Food Pantry is one of FAST Blackfeet's programs serving the Blackfeet Reservation residents. We serve 400-500 families weekly. The food pantry is located in Browning Montana. The mobile food pantry delivers food to the 10 outlying communities on the reservation.
FAST Blackfeet is a non-profit organization that focuses on identifying gaps in food insecurity, nutrition education, and food sovereignty. Our vision is a healthy, strong, food secure Blackfeet Nation. The Ō´yō´•ṗ´ Food Pantry is not a tribal program, it is a non-profit program filling a gap in food assistance.
We appreciate buffalo, grass-fed beef, tea, and fresh produce donations! Spices and cooking oils are also needed.
Please call us so we can arrange a pick-up or delivery for donations.
ProducePedia is a free resource that covers the types of fresh produce that can be delivered to food pantries. Each entry includes information on color, taste, and possible uses. People unfamiliar with the vegetable or fruit will learn how to use it, and those who are familiar with it still might learn a fun fact or two!
The Cooperative Extension sites have a wealth of information for any backyard gardener. Once you go to the site (each one if very different from the others) look for a link for “homes and gardens”, “landscape”, “consumer horticulture”, etc. to find information on improving your backyard garden. Neighboring state sites may offer information your own state’s site lacks.
