1st Phoenix Community Center Pantry

1st Phoenix runs a Food Pantry on Saturday mornings from 8 to noon. Everyone in need is welcome. We shop recipients around the tables: they choose what they will eat, rather than getting a bag of same things each week or random set number of items. We purchase fresh vegetables and fruits weekly, shop for good sales, receive food from Phoenix Food Project's Green Bag Days (2nd Saturdays of Even Months) and order goods and receive Fresh Alliance goods from ACCESS/Oregon Food Bank. Toiletries are needed, too! Moving and cleaning out cupboards? Bring it on! OF COURSE you can volunteer to help! Gently used clothing needed and available, too.

State Cooperative Extension Web Sites

The Cooperative Extension sites have a wealth of information for any backyard gardener. Once you go to the site (each one if very different from the others) look for a link for “homes and gardens”, “landscape”, “consumer horticulture”, etc. to find information on improving your backyard garden. Neighboring state sites may offer information your own state’s site lacks.
