B.R.E.A.D. stands for Blessings Received Each Appointed Day. We are a non-profit 501c3 agency that serves as a food pantry for our area. We also serve as a food bank by providing food and supplies to many other smaller organizations. We seek to show the transforming love of Jesus by providing groceries, clothes, shoes, toiletries, OTC medications, household items, and linens to families with financial insecurity, the homeless and elderly. Our member are pre-qualified by financial need may come 2 times each month.
We love fresh produce and any other donation that would serve our members.
The best time for donors to come is 10-12 M-Thursday. Tuesday and Thursday times include 7:30-3. You may ring the bell at the front ramp door or on the back gate. Food donation deliveries please go to the back of the building. Non-food donations are received at the front.
ProducePedia
ProducePedia is a free resource that covers the types of fresh produce that can be delivered to food pantries. Each entry includes information on color, taste, and possible uses. People unfamiliar with the vegetable or fruit will learn how to use it, and those who are familiar with it still might learn a fun fact or two!
The Cooperative Extension sites have a wealth of information for any backyard gardener. Once you go to the site (each one if very different from the others) look for a link for “homes and gardens”, “landscape”, “consumer horticulture”, etc. to find information on improving your backyard garden. Neighboring state sites may offer information your own state’s site lacks.
