Ballard Food Bank works the same as a grocery store, but free. Browse the shelves and choose items you need and want – whether it’s staples like meat and vegetables, hygiene items like toothpaste and tampons, or dog and cat food for your pets. People from all neighborhoods in Seattle are invited to shop with us on site.
We serve about 10,000 households a month through our community market and home delivery programs. We serve over 10,000 individuals through our Kindness Cafe where they prepare fresh, hot meals each day.
These programs love fresh produce to incorporate into the grocery shopping and community meal programs.

People unfamiliar with the vegetable or fruit will learn how to use it, and those who are familiar with it still might learn a fun fact or two!

Once you go to the site (each one if very different from the others) look for a link for “homes and gardens”, “landscape”, “consumer horticulture”, etc. to find information on improving your backyard garden. Neighboring state sites may offer information your own state’s site lacks.
