Barakah Muslim Charity

We are a non-profit organization incompassing emergency food pantry, soup kitchen, refugee program etc. Serving those who are in need. We serve the homeless, elderly, refugees population, lgbtq etc. In the fall we have an annual backpack drive. Supplying students in grades kindergarten through 12th grade with school supplies. We also have a winter coat drive for the winter months. Recently we started a hygiene backpack program with assortment of toiletries. To help mitigate the demand of fresh foods we are trying to start a community garden. We are still facing the challenge of hala food in our pantry.

State Cooperative Extension Web Sites

The Cooperative Extension sites have a wealth of information for any backyard gardener. Once you go to the site (each one if very different from the others) look for a link for “homes and gardens”, “landscape”, “consumer horticulture”, etc. to find information on improving your backyard garden. Neighboring state sites may offer information your own state’s site lacks.
