Hunger and food insecurity are realities everywhere – even on college campuses. This problem has prompted many campuses to establish food pantries to help students in need. Camden County College is happy to help our students in need.
Through donations from our college community of students/staff/faculty and in our surrounding communities, we are proud to offer a wide assortment of diverse non-perishable foods and food ingredients. With support, we would love to include fresh fruits, vegetables, and other items such as honey, and dairy products to our college students in need. We also need toiletries, cleaning supplies, and personal hygiene products as these items are not typically donated but are widely requested by our student pantry guests.
Yes. Donations can be delivered starting at 8:30 am Monday-Friday and up to 4:30 pm Monday-Friday by way of Camden County College Public Safety team located in the Community Center building (Community Center/Madison Hall entrance).
Direct extension to the Marketplace: 856-227-7200 Ext: 4335
Donations can either be delivered to our Camden County College Community Center, Room 200 (Camden County College Food Pantry), with our Public Safety Office or can be picked up on select weekdays.
ProducePedia
ProducePedia is a free resource that covers the types of fresh produce that can be delivered to food pantries. Each entry includes information on color, taste, and possible uses. People unfamiliar with the vegetable or fruit will learn how to use it, and those who are familiar with it still might learn a fun fact or two!
The Cooperative Extension sites have a wealth of information for any backyard gardener. Once you go to the site (each one if very different from the others) look for a link for “homes and gardens”, “landscape”, “consumer horticulture”, etc. to find information on improving your backyard garden. Neighboring state sites may offer information your own state’s site lacks.
