Caring Hands Ministry

We are a food pantry that also provides clothing and small housewares to individuals in the northern portion of Sumter County Florida. Almost 200 families are registered with us. Families are served twice monthly - on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month from 9:30 am to 12:30 PM. We rely on local business and farmers to provide healthy fresh food.

We are staffed every Tuesday from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Call 352-748-2553 or 352-446-3019 to make a donation outside those hours. We are right behind the Wildwood Ace Hardware.

The Cooperative Extension sites have a wealth of information for any backyard gardener. Once you go to the site (each one if very different from the others) look for a link for “homes and gardens”, “landscape”, “consumer horticulture”, etc. to find information on improving your backyard garden. Neighboring state sites may offer information your own state’s site lacks.
