We recommend calling or emailing the pantry ahead of time to be sure their days/hours of operation have not changed.

Central Mercy Ministries

We distribute donated food to families and single people and homeless people in our neighborhood. The pantry is open every Saturday with a few exceptions, and Wednesdays from 12 to noon for smaller items. Currently we get donations from Feeding Tampa Bay, Sprouts, and Publix supermarkets however we do not get enough of the fresh food items that we need on a regular, such as milk, eggs, and Cheese in quantities that we can use. We also don't get on a regular basis, staples that we need such as rice and pasta. We are still fundraising to be able to afford a standalone location. Currently, we are operating out of the fellowship hall of our local church. We have been in existence for about three years we give out anywhere from 80 to 150 boxes of food every Saturday. We also provide clothing and toiletries on a Quarterly basis.

State Cooperative Extension Web Sites

The Cooperative Extension sites have a wealth of information for any backyard gardener. Once you go to the site (each one if very different from the others) look for a link for “homes and gardens”, “landscape”, “consumer horticulture”, etc. to find information on improving your backyard garden. Neighboring state sites may offer information your own state’s site lacks.
