Church of the Ascension Food Pantry

Ascension Food Pantry opened its doors in May of 2016, providing food to families in Mount Vernon and the surrounding cities in Lower Westchester. We serve a diverse population that includes young families, seniors, veterans, and LGBTQ. We have been serving 60 households to date on a bi-weekly basis, and we currently serve between 150 and 200 households. During our distribution, we have been fortunate to provide the customers we serve with household items and toiletries.

State Cooperative Extension Web Sites

The Cooperative Extension sites have a wealth of information for any backyard gardener. Once you go to the site (each one if very different from the others) look for a link for “homes and gardens”, “landscape”, “consumer horticulture”, etc. to find information on improving your backyard garden. Neighboring state sites may offer information your own state’s site lacks.
