Daniel’s Yable provides free food services to neighbors in need in two major ways. The first is our weekly free client choice farmers market. Each week our guests enjoy shopping for their family’s unique needs. Choosing from high quality meat and seafood. Fresh produce and pantry staples. The market is robust and offers education and cooking demonstrations.
Daniel’s Table Community Freezer program takes rescued and donated food and turns them into nutritionally dense meals that are packed, sealed, labeled and frozen at Daniel’s Table and then distributed to 23 freezers throughout the community. Places like schools, community centers, senior centers, social service agencies and cancer centers.
Please call before you come. We are often called away and wouldn’t want you to come and us not be here to greet you.
ProducePedia
ProducePedia is a free resource that covers the types of fresh produce that can be delivered to food pantries. Each entry includes information on color, taste, and possible uses. People unfamiliar with the vegetable or fruit will learn how to use it, and those who are familiar with it still might learn a fun fact or two!
The Cooperative Extension sites have a wealth of information for any backyard gardener. Once you go to the site (each one if very different from the others) look for a link for “homes and gardens”, “landscape”, “consumer horticulture”, etc. to find information on improving your backyard garden. Neighboring state sites may offer information your own state’s site lacks.
