Dignity Market Place

The Franciscan Center’s Dignity Market Place is a community food and clothing pantry dedicated to helping individuals and families access nutritious food, fresh produce, clothing, and essential household items with dignity and compassion. Each week, we serve approximately 100–150 community members and families, including individuals, seniors, parents, and households experiencing food insecurity. Our goal is to ensure that no one in our community goes without the basic necessities they need to thrive. We especially appreciate donations of healthy, fresh foods, including fresh produce, meats, dairy, whole grains, and nutritious pantry staples. We also welcome vegetarian, halal, and kosher-friendly foods whenever available. In addition to food, our community greatly benefits from donations of new or gently used clothing, toiletries, personal-care items, diapers, cleaning supplies, and other household essentials.

Every donation makes a meaningful difference. Your generosity helps us provide not just food and clothing, but hope, dignity, and a stronger sense of community to our neighbors in need.

From the Listing

We are grateful for every donation that helps support our community! Donors are encouraged to contact us before dropping off large food, clothing, or household donations so we can make sure we have adequate space and staff available to receive your generous contribution. Donation drop-offs are welcome Monday–Wednesday, 10:00 AM–3:00 PM. If these hours are not convenient, please reach out to us so we can coordinate an alternative drop-off time or, when possible, arrange for a donation pickup. For large donations, please let us know the approximate quantity or type of items being donated in advance. This helps us prepare for a smooth and timely delivery.

ProducePedia

ProducePedia is a free resource that covers the types of fresh produce that can be delivered to food pantries. Each entry includes information on color, taste, and possible uses. People unfamiliar with the vegetable or fruit will learn how to use it, and those who are familiar with it still might learn a fun fact or two!

State Cooperative Extension Web Sites

The Cooperative Extension sites have a wealth of information for any backyard gardener. Once you go to the site (each one if very different from the others) look for a link for “homes and gardens”, “landscape”, “consumer horticulture”, etc. to find information on improving your backyard garden. Neighboring state sites may offer information your own state’s site lacks.
