We are a food pantry and distribute one bag of nonperishable food items per family on the last Saturday of the month only.
We serve all families in the community of mixed ethnicity. Presently we can serve around 50 bags, limited to the donation supply and whatever cash on hand Since Covid, donations have decreased, so we find it harder to serve a larger amount of families We would love to have fresh food added to what we can give, and would welcome donations of toiletries, diapers and other household items. Currently, we have no way of ascertaining the different dietary needs of our clients
Must call to make appointment as church has no person on site weekdays. Deliveries will be made in the courtyard accessible from the street We currently have no way to pick up items
ProducePedia
ProducePedia is a free resource that covers the types of fresh produce that can be delivered to food pantries. Each entry includes information on color, taste, and possible uses. People unfamiliar with the vegetable or fruit will learn how to use it, and those who are familiar with it still might learn a fun fact or two!
The Cooperative Extension sites have a wealth of information for any backyard gardener. Once you go to the site (each one if very different from the others) look for a link for “homes and gardens”, “landscape”, “consumer horticulture”, etc. to find information on improving your backyard garden. Neighboring state sites may offer information your own state’s site lacks.
