This is the Central Kitchen for Episcopal Community Services, and we also use this site for collecting and distributing food for others in our network -- multiple food pantries, community kitchens, meals-at-home programs, etc. Episcopal Community Services and the Episcopal Hunger Relief Network supplied more than 1.2 million melas to the hungry in Greater Kansas City in 2012. We place a high priority on produce, and can use anything you have. High priority items also include donations of frozen meat and other high protein products, as well as dairy products such as cheese and milk. Will also take canned and processed foods, but prefer lower sodium and lower sugar options. Call our administrative offices at 816-561-8920 if you have any other questions.

Want an email when this food pantry updates their hours or other information?
Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM through 5:00 PM. We can sometimes also take food donations on weekends and early AM / late PM, but call ahead of time. Access through large double doors on Broadway side of building. If doors are locked, ring bell (button to right of doorway).
ProducePedia is a free resource that covers the types of fresh produce that can be delivered to food pantries. Each entry includes information on color, taste, and possible uses. People unfamiliar with the vegetable or fruit will learn how to use it, and those who are familiar with it still might learn a fun fact or two!
The Cooperative Extension sites have a wealth of information for any backyard gardener. Once you go to the site (each one if very different from the others) look for a link for “homes and gardens”, “landscape”, “consumer horticulture”, etc. to find information on improving your backyard garden. Neighboring state sites may offer information your own state’s site lacks.
