Feeding Hope Food Pantry/First Congregational Church

We are a food pantry and are open every Monday evening from 6:30-7:30 pm, and every Tuesday morning from 9:00-12:30 pm. We serve people of all ages from infants to senior citizens. We are a full-choice pantry and are a Network Partner of the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank, which serves 8 counties in northeast Ohio. Although we are located in Summit County, there is no residency requirement to receive food from us. We do like fresh produce and toiletries are needed also.

From the Listing

We are all volunteers, including the leadership team which consists of 5 of us (two people for Monday evening and three for Tuesday morning). One person is in charge of ordering and inventory; his name is Chip Houghton. Please contact him when you wish to deliver the food; he will coordinate with you. Church phone number is below.

ProducePedia is a free resource that covers the types of fresh produce that can be delivered to food pantries. Each entry includes information on color, taste, and possible uses. People unfamiliar with the vegetable or fruit will learn how to use it, and those who are familiar with it still might learn a fun fact or two!

State Cooperative Extension Web Sites

The Cooperative Extension sites have a wealth of information for any backyard gardener. Once you go to the site (each one if very different from the others) look for a link for “homes and gardens”, “landscape”, “consumer horticulture”, etc. to find information on improving your backyard garden. Neighboring state sites may offer information your own state’s site lacks.
