We are a food pantry of choice. By that we mean that we allow our clients to shop for what they need as opposed of giving them a box of predetermined items. Along with canned and shelf-stable packaged item we offer diary, bakery and fresh produce to the shopping items our clients choose from. We also provide personal care item including personal hygiene and cleaning products. We have a clothing center which houses gender and age-appropriate clothing options. Much of what we offer is donated to us by the Flushing community and local businesses.

People unfamiliar with the vegetable or fruit will learn how to use it, and those who are familiar with it still might learn a fun fact or two!
The Cooperative Extension sites have a wealth of information for any backyard gardener. Once you go to the site (each one if very different from the others) look for a link for “homes and gardens”, “landscape”, “consumer horticulture”, etc. to find information on improving your backyard garden. Neighboring state sites may offer information your own state’s site lacks.
