We are blessed to be a 47 year old nonprofit serving the Putnam County residents in need. Our services are available with an appointment and include a food pantry, as well as assistance with rent, utilities, gas for out of town appts and help with specific prescription drugs. We appreciate any and all donations. We are able to purchase food through Second Harvest and have access to USDA as well. Some of the things we always need other than food are: toilet paper, laundry soap, diapers, wipes, and all toiletries.

Want an email when this food pantry updates their hours or other information?
If we know during business hours they might need to deliver at a different time, we will try to make arrangements to be here and available. Thank you for all you do!
We accept all donations during business hours which are Monday-Friday 9-12 and 1-3. We are closed on all federal holidays. We do accept food donation; however, if we have monetary donations, we are able to purchase more per dollar through our partnership with Second Harvest. We can save you the hassle and help organize a food/donation drive for your organization to benefit Helping Hands. Thank you in advance for inquiring about Helping Hands of Putnam County.
ProducePedia
ProducePedia is a free resource that covers the types of fresh produce that can be delivered to food pantries. Each entry includes information on color, taste, and possible uses. People unfamiliar with the vegetable or fruit will learn how to use it, and those who are familiar with it still might learn a fun fact or two!
The Cooperative Extension sites have a wealth of information for any backyard gardener. Once you go to the site (each one if very different from the others) look for a link for “homes and gardens”, “landscape”, “consumer horticulture”, etc. to find information on improving your backyard garden. Neighboring state sites may offer information your own state’s site lacks.
