Hillcrest is a transitional housing program that operates a pantry for all program participants. Items are obtained through a variety of agencies, individuals, and outside sources. These food stores are just an additional way of allowing residents to effectively utilize funds to pay bills, save funds, and ultimately become fully self-sustaining at the end of their 90 day stay.

The Cooperative Extension sites have a wealth of information for any backyard gardener. Once you go to the site (each one if very different from the others) look for a link for “homes and gardens”, “landscape”, “consumer horticulture”, etc. to find information on improving your backyard garden. Neighboring state sites may offer information your own state’s site lacks.
