In addition to Food & Basic Needs assistance, the Hope Clinic provides free medical and dental care for uninsured people, integrated with mental and behavioral health support and patient advocacy and social work. Free hot meals are accessible at Hope Clinic six days a week (no Wednesday meal) from 5-6pm without an appointment and emergency food bags are available at the front desk during all business hours. Call to schedule a pantry appointment, Farm Stand produce appointment, grocery delivery (if homebound) or to learn about our Diaper pantry (diapers, formula, wipes, etc). 734-484-2989.
Donations can be dropped off Monday-Friday 9am-4pm or Saturday 9am-12pm. We especially appreciate non-food groceries like hygiene products and cleaning supplies, condiments and spices and other specialty foods.
ProducePedia
ProducePedia is a free resource that covers the types of fresh produce that can be delivered to food pantries. Each entry includes information on color, taste, and possible uses. People unfamiliar with the vegetable or fruit will learn how to use it, and those who are familiar with it still might learn a fun fact or two!
The Cooperative Extension sites have a wealth of information for any backyard gardener. Once you go to the site (each one if very different from the others) look for a link for “homes and gardens”, “landscape”, “consumer horticulture”, etc. to find information on improving your backyard garden. Neighboring state sites may offer information your own state’s site lacks.
