Living Bread Soup Kitchen Inc.

LBSK was established in 2009. We are open two days a week with hot meals within the city limits (downtown) & one Saturday a month at a second location in a much-needed rural area of our County (Nancy). Last year we served over 31,000 meals and hundreds of food boxes. We serve a traditional Thanksgiving & Christmas dinner & partner with Toys for Tots to help children in needy families at Christmas. We are also proud to hand out Easter basket's just before Easter. We serve anyone who comes to our door no questions asked unless they being one person ask for several meals, then we do need to have verification for who is receiving food.

We offer food boxes 7 days a week during the daylight hours upon request when available. Our priority is hot meals, then food boxes then needed items like toiletries, deodorants, toilet paper, diapers etc. We are super excited at the thoughts of being able to possibly receive fresh produce! This will be used to help prepare meals and what we can't use in the soup kitchen we will hand out in food boxes as soon as possible.

The Cooperative Extension sites have a wealth of information for any backyard gardener. Once you go to the site (each one if very different from the others) look for a link for “homes and gardens”, “landscape”, “consumer horticulture”, etc. to find information on improving your backyard garden. Neighboring state sites may offer information your own state’s site lacks.
