Loaves & Fishes Community Services

Loaves & Fishes Community Services in Naperville. IL is one of the largest food pantries in Illinois. We provide groceries to 8,000+ food insecure people each week in DuPage, Will, Kane and Kendall counties. In those four counties, 1 in 5 people are in low-income/poverty. We focus on providing healthy food, such as fresh produce, dairy, meats/seafood, etc. to those in need. Importantly, we provide access to those in need in several different forms, as they can: shop in our grocery market, order groceries through our online system or simply get food in our ready-to-go grocery pre-packs. A typical week involves the distribution of over 70 tons of food to people in need. We provide food to food insecure people in our community free of charge.

State Cooperative Extension Web Sites

The Cooperative Extension sites have a wealth of information for any backyard gardener. Once you go to the site (each one if very different from the others) look for a link for “homes and gardens”, “landscape”, “consumer horticulture”, etc. to find information on improving your backyard garden. Neighboring state sites may offer information your own state’s site lacks.
