We are a small food pantry located in the Lomax AME Zion Church in Arlington, Virginia. We serve everyone in need of food. We presently serve non perishable items, (canned vegetables, beans, tuna, spam, canned soup, etc.) also rice, dried beans, pancake mix, syrup, cereal, oatmeal, grits, vegetable oil, condiments and occasionally get fresh produce, bread and meats, pasta, tomato sauce. We also provide feminine hygiene products, baby diapers and baby items, (socks, etc.) when we can get them; soap, deodorant, toothpaste, detergent, dish detergent, paper towels, bathroom tissue, and water.
We also accept financial donations too.
We would love to be able to provide more fresh vegetables to our recipients, eggs and milk.

ProducePedia
ProducePedia is a free resource that covers the types of fresh produce that can be delivered to food pantries. Each entry includes information on color, taste, and possible uses. People unfamiliar with the vegetable or fruit will learn how to use it, and those who are familiar with it still might learn a fun fact or two!
The Cooperative Extension sites have a wealth of information for any backyard gardener. Once you go to the site (each one if very different from the others) look for a link for “homes and gardens”, “landscape”, “consumer horticulture”, etc. to find information on improving your backyard garden. Neighboring state sites may offer information your own state’s site lacks.
