Madison Home is a
non profit organization whose goal is to eliminate hunger and meet the needs of our community’s unhoused population. During our critical winter months,
December- March, we offer emergency shelter, food, clothing, and hygiene supplies to the community. Our last season provided housing to 138 individuals/ families. April 1st- December 15, we serve our community with a summer lunch program, feeding anywhere from 15-50 people 5 days a week. We assist all in need.
We receive grants or public funding but operate solely on donations. We provide
food boxes upon request,
as long as we have supplies to those living in their own home, but struggling with food insecurity. We are the only shelter of this kind in our county.

ProducePedia
ProducePedia is a free resource that covers the types of fresh produce that can be delivered to food pantries. Each entry includes information on color, taste, and possible uses. People unfamiliar with the vegetable or fruit will learn how to use it, and those who are familiar with it still might learn a fun fact or two!
The Cooperative Extension sites have a wealth of information for any backyard gardener. Once you go to the site (each one if very different from the others) look for a link for “homes and gardens”, “landscape”, “consumer horticulture”, etc. to find information on improving your backyard garden. Neighboring state sites may offer information your own state’s site lacks.
