Madison Resource Center/FHRA

o Madison Resource Center (MRC) is a satellite location of Fargo Housing and Redevelopment Authority (FHRA). This site is used to assist individuals and families living in the Scattered Site areas of Public Housing. A daily bread food disbursement is typically provided twice a month, with additional hours available as needed. We graciously accept all food items, personal hygiene (especially diapers, toilet paper, deodorant, soap, shampoo, etc.), household items (bedding, blankets, laundry detergent, cleaning supplies, etc.), toys, books, and clothing/shoes/accessories for all ages. Clothing does not need to be new, but must be in good useable condition with no stains or tears. For more information or assistance, please MRC’s direct line at 701-232-1349 or call the main office for Fargo Housing and Redevelopment Authority at 701-293-6262. To mail items to the MRC, please use this address: PO BOX 430, Fargo, ND 58107.

ProducePedia is a free resource that covers the types of fresh produce that can be delivered to food pantries. Each entry includes information on color, taste, and possible uses. People unfamiliar with the vegetable or fruit will learn how to use it, and those who are familiar with it still might learn a fun fact or two!

State Cooperative Extension Web Sites

The Cooperative Extension sites have a wealth of information for any backyard gardener. Once you go to the site (each one if very different from the others) look for a link for “homes and gardens”, “landscape”, “consumer horticulture”, etc. to find information on improving your backyard garden. Neighboring state sites may offer information your own state’s site lacks.
