Neighbor to Neighbor strengthens the Greenwich community by providing access to nutritious food, clothing, and other essentials in an atmosphere of kindness and respect. Neighbor to Neighbor operates a “client choice” food and essentials pantry, designed to resemble a small grocery store. Clients select their own food from a healthy array of protein, fruits, vegetables, grains, cereals, eggs, and milk. There is often a selection of fresh pastries and seasonal items too. Neighbor to Neighbor provides fresh, healthy food that accommodates cultural, religious, personal, and dietary preferences. We accommodate vegetarian and diabetic diets and will do the best to accommodate kosher, gluten-free, and other diets upon requested.
ADMIN HOURS:
Monday through Friday:
8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
For deliveries or donations after hours, please call to make an appointment.
ProducePedia
ProducePedia is a free resource that covers the types of fresh produce that can be delivered to food pantries. Each entry includes information on color, taste, and possible uses. People unfamiliar with the vegetable or fruit will learn how to use it, and those who are familiar with it still might learn a fun fact or two!
The Cooperative Extension sites have a wealth of information for any backyard gardener. Once you go to the site (each one if very different from the others) look for a link for “homes and gardens”, “landscape”, “consumer horticulture”, etc. to find information on improving your backyard garden. Neighboring state sites may offer information your own state’s site lacks.
