Okanogan Food Pantry

Okanogan Food Pantry is currently serving 300+ food boxes per week, full of supplemental food to the Okanogan community, to help low income families in need with healthy, nutritious food. We are dedicated to providing as much farm fresh produce as possible from our local farms in the area, keeping the food local; helping both our farms, and families in the same community. We appreciate all donations; however, currently, we are focusing a lot on trying to provide healthier options for our clients, especially those with diet restrictions, culturally relevant foods, etc. We also have a high need for toiletries and hygiene products for those individuals currently not living in a "home."

ProducePedia

ProducePedia is a free resource that covers the types of fresh produce that can be delivered to food pantries. Each entry includes information on color, taste, and possible uses. People unfamiliar with the vegetable or fruit will learn how to use it, and those who are familiar with it still might learn a fun fact or two!

State Cooperative Extension Web Sites

The Cooperative Extension sites have a wealth of information for any backyard gardener. Once you go to the site (each one if very different from the others) look for a link for “homes and gardens”, “landscape”, “consumer horticulture”, etc. to find information on improving your backyard garden. Neighboring state sites may offer information your own state’s site lacks.
