The purpose of our building is to provide multi-services to the community. Our mission is to respond to the needs of our community by creating equitable and reliable access to food and resources. We strive to not only fill the need of food insecurity, but give participants a hand up and solutions to life. We like to look at the whole person and not just hunger. When our participants apply with us, we survey them to find what specific things they need at the moment. Through that data, we are able to provide resources for things like housing, jobs, healthcare, etc. to meet them where they are at. We serve around 3,800 people a month which equates to 1,070 families. We also deliver to 78 families that are homebound.
Call before you come. We can arrange for picking up the food from you if you'd like.
ProducePedia
ProducePedia is a free resource that covers the types of fresh produce that can be delivered to food pantries. Each entry includes information on color, taste, and possible uses. People unfamiliar with the vegetable or fruit will learn how to use it, and those who are familiar with it still might learn a fun fact or two!
The Cooperative Extension sites have a wealth of information for any backyard gardener. Once you go to the site (each one if very different from the others) look for a link for “homes and gardens”, “landscape”, “consumer horticulture”, etc. to find information on improving your backyard garden. Neighboring state sites may offer information your own state’s site lacks.
