We are a client choice food pantry located on the corner of N Clinton and Clifford Avenue in the heart of Rochester. We serve a mainly Latino population, and most of our clients are families with young children. Each week we help between 350 and 400 households find nourishing food to take home with them. Being in the inner city access to fresh produce is a challenge. Produce is always the first thing to fly off our shelves and are thankful for any and all donations!
Our building boarders the parking lot. When you arrive, use the door that faces the parking lot with the green awning above it. Ring the bell and we'll come right out. In addition, we can arrange to pick up food from you, if it would be easier
ProducePedia
ProducePedia is a free resource that covers the types of fresh produce that can be delivered to food pantries. Each entry includes information on color, taste, and possible uses. People unfamiliar with the vegetable or fruit will learn how to use it, and those who are familiar with it still might learn a fun fact or two!
The Cooperative Extension sites have a wealth of information for any backyard gardener. Once you go to the site (each one if very different from the others) look for a link for “homes and gardens”, “landscape”, “consumer horticulture”, etc. to find information on improving your backyard garden. Neighboring state sites may offer information your own state’s site lacks.
