We are a drive up pantry that operates out of our church. We serve the people in our community that need a little extra help. Seniors some of which are raising grandkids, families, veterans anyone in need. We serve around 110-145 families per month. We are open the 4th Saturday of the month for distribution. We are always in need of produce and dairy.
We are always looking for toiletries and cleaning products .And with the weather changing we are stocking up soup, pasta products and hearty meal options.
We can accept donations but you must call first so we can be there to open up. We are available just about any time but only operate 1 time a month so the 3rd or 4th week would be most helpful.
ProducePedia
ProducePedia is a free resource that covers the types of fresh produce that can be delivered to food pantries. Each entry includes information on color, taste, and possible uses. People unfamiliar with the vegetable or fruit will learn how to use it, and those who are familiar with it still might learn a fun fact or two!
The Cooperative Extension sites have a wealth of information for any backyard gardener. Once you go to the site (each one if very different from the others) look for a link for “homes and gardens”, “landscape”, “consumer horticulture”, etc. to find information on improving your backyard garden. Neighboring state sites may offer information your own state’s site lacks.
