Hi! We are a soup kitchen in downtown Rochester, NY We were establied 40 years ago, originally we were a sit down soup kitchen but during COVID we went to a Grab & Go which we have continued. We served 12,691 guests in 2023, approximately 130 people a day. Our guests are under-resourced, many homeless. Our guests receive 1 drink (water, juice or milk), 2 sandwiches (tuna, egg salad, ham & cheese or PBJ) or they can have 1 sandwich and a hot food (chilli, soup or pizza), fruit (applesauce, banana), snacks and dessert. We offer bread on Tuesdays.
We are in need of fresh fruit and veggies to pass onto our guests, toiletries are needed as well, paper products such as paper towels, napkins, plastic bags. snack bags. In this current economy all financial donations are welcome.

ProducePedia
ProducePedia is a free resource that covers the types of fresh produce that can be delivered to food pantries. Each entry includes information on color, taste, and possible uses. People unfamiliar with the vegetable or fruit will learn how to use it, and those who are familiar with it still might learn a fun fact or two!
The Cooperative Extension sites have a wealth of information for any backyard gardener. Once you go to the site (each one if very different from the others) look for a link for “homes and gardens”, “landscape”, “consumer horticulture”, etc. to find information on improving your backyard garden. Neighboring state sites may offer information your own state’s site lacks.
