St. Vincent de Paul of Bend is locally organized and staffed to serve anyone in need with dignity and respect. Through donations by individuals and local businesses, we provide food, clothing, utility, propane, prescription, and transitional housing to help families and individuals who are in need. We serve all people in the Bend area without discrimination regarding race, color, national origin, gender, sexuality, age, religion, political beliefs, or disabilities. We are currently accepting all food donations, warm winter clothing, coats, socks, underwear, sleeping bags, tents, and warm blankets.
You can drop off food donations at our grey double back door to the far right of our building. If you have clothing or other donations please bring them through the front door and speak with one of our receptionists.
ProducePedia
ProducePedia is a free resource that covers the types of fresh produce that can be delivered to food pantries. Each entry includes information on color, taste, and possible uses. People unfamiliar with the vegetable or fruit will learn how to use it, and those who are familiar with it still might learn a fun fact or two!
The Cooperative Extension sites have a wealth of information for any backyard gardener. Once you go to the site (each one if very different from the others) look for a link for “homes and gardens”, “landscape”, “consumer horticulture”, etc. to find information on improving your backyard garden. Neighboring state sites may offer information your own state’s site lacks.
