The Food Bank @ St. Mary’s strives to provide food and groceries for all in our community in response to hunger relief, and we believe in a world where hunger doesn't exist. Our mission is to support our community with hospitality, respect, and nutritious food. We serve approximately 8,000 families each month through our many programs. We would really appreciate fresh produce, halal meats, rice, baby diapers, and toiletries. We accept ALL donations if they are unopened/unused and not expired. Thank you for thinking of our community!
Walk up to the alley and someone will assist you. You can stop by the food bank any weekday between 7am-2pm. If you need to come later, please call ahead of time (extension 14).
ProducePedia
ProducePedia is a free resource that covers the types of fresh produce that can be delivered to food pantries. Each entry includes information on color, taste, and possible uses. People unfamiliar with the vegetable or fruit will learn how to use it, and those who are familiar with it still might learn a fun fact or two!
The Cooperative Extension sites have a wealth of information for any backyard gardener. Once you go to the site (each one if very different from the others) look for a link for “homes and gardens”, “landscape”, “consumer horticulture”, etc. to find information on improving your backyard garden. Neighboring state sites may offer information your own state’s site lacks.
