We recommend calling or emailing the pantry ahead of time to be sure their days/hours of operation have not changed.

The Nourishing Kitchen of New York City, Inc.

We're a very small organization and always appreciate a phone call before you come so that way we can be prepared to accept your donation.

We are a 501(c)3 not-for-profit and can offer you receipts for the fair market value of the donation.

There are approximately four million New Yorkers who experience difficulty affording food - an astounding number and one that continues to increase as the donated food supply drops to an all-time low and food costs skyrocket. To address this issue, the Nourishing Kitchen of New York City directly feeds 1,000s of individuals and families every year.

In addition, we provide nutrition education programs, after-school and emergency food programs; operate a Senior Food Program; and develop policy and conduct research to inform community and government efforts to end food poverty throughout New York City.

Please let us know how we can help each other and the community.

State Cooperative Extension Web Sites

The Cooperative Extension sites have a wealth of information for any backyard gardener. Once you go to the site (each one if very different from the others) look for a link for “homes and gardens”, “landscape”, “consumer horticulture”, etc. to find information on improving your backyard garden. Neighboring state sites may offer information your own state’s site lacks.
