Tia Mica's Closet & Pantry - Mercy House Community Center
Pantry #10951
Services
As a staple in the community, we recognized the need for food and clothing assistance from time to time. A loss of job or a crisis can leave those struggling to provide or make ends meet.
Tia Mica’s Closet & Pantry was designed as an emergency assistance for those in need.
Free food and clothing available every second and fourth Saturday. We serve over 100 families a month with food, clothing, hygiene essentials when available.
We also have after school program and summer reading camp for students.
We are open for sure on Tuesday and Thursday 12-6 pm, Our Pantry day is every 2nd and 4th Saturday open at 9am-12pm. We have summer reading camp for students 3rd through 9th grade. We provide breakfast and lunch.
ProducePedia is a free resource that covers the types of fresh produce that can be delivered to food pantries. Each entry includes information on color, taste, and possible uses. People unfamiliar with the vegetable or fruit will learn how to use it, and those who are familiar with it still might learn a fun fact or two!
The Cooperative Extension sites have a wealth of information for any backyard gardener. Once you go to the site (each one if very different from the others) look for a link for “homes and gardens”, “landscape”, “consumer horticulture”, etc. to find information on improving your backyard garden. Neighboring state sites may offer information your own state’s site lacks.
